Mom is healing well from her surgery and has some upcoming preliminary tests and procedures to prepare for treatments.

Last week ended up being a whirlwind of doctor’s appointments and information. We received three very good future treatment options for Mike and took the weekend to think and pray about which would be best. Mom has some more tests to determine her treatment plan, so an update about her will be coming in a later post.

Mom was discharged from the hospital today and we got the pathology report back early this morning. Mike has upcoming procedures and appointments. Read on for a quick update on both.

Mike was discharged from the hospital on Sunday afternoon. Then, my mom was admitted on Monday and is having surgery today to remove a tumor from her small intestines. The saga continues below.

It’s paradoxically encouraging to know that when we cry out to God with discouragement and—let’s just be honest—accusations against him, he doesn’t turn a deaf ear to our pain. Instead, he meets us in the middle of it with compassion, grace, and mercy—despite our unbelief, bewilderment, and anger.

Things are weird right now, and quite confusing. Life makes no sense. But that’s not unique to us. I’m sure many of you have circumstances in your own lives that make little sense.
